Business Development Representative - Outbound
Join Valant as an Outbound BDR: build meaningful connections with behavioral health practices, create qualified opportunities, and help providers deliver better care.
Business Development Representative - Outbound
Now more than ever, our world needs mental health professionals. Day in and day out, they're doing their best to provide exceptional care to an increasing number of patients. But, they're working with generic or simplistic tools that limit their potential and growth. We want to change all that — by giving behavioral health organizations everything they need to thrive.
Valant is a market-leading, software-as-a-service organization serving the needs of the behavioral healthcare industry. Our mission is to develop disruptive technology solutions that exponentially improve behavioral healthcare quality to better serve mental health providers and their patients. We are seeking enthusiastic, passionate individuals to join us as we transform the industry!
As an Outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) at Valant, you own outbound prospecting. You'll identify and engage decision makers at behavioral health practices and multi-site groups, position Valant against the tools they're using today, and partner with Account Executives to build qualified pipeline. You'll report to the Director of Business Development.
What You’ll Do
Own your pipeline development quota, measured in qualified opportunities sourced each month.
Run high daily volume: roughly 100 dials a day and first-touch outreach to 20 new practices, across a targeted book of behavioral health practices and multi-site groups.
Serve as the first point of contact for prospects, creating a great first impression.
Build and refine outbound cadences in Nooks and Salesforce that create awareness of Valant's offering and differentiated value.
Research your accounts: understand what drives a behavioral health practice, find the real decision makers, and tailor your message to what each one cares about.
Qualify and nurture prospects, and guide potential buyers through the initial stages of the sales funnel.
Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.
Keep impeccable records in Salesforce so handoffs to Account Executives are seamless and attribution is accurate.
Provide value-added market intelligence to Marketing, Sales, and Product teams.
How We'll Help You Win
Structured onboarding and ramp, with a defined playbook for behavioral health personas, competitors, and objections.
Weekly team trainings on discovery, objection handling, competitive positioning, and the behavioral health market.
Weekly 1:1s with your manager and regular call reviews against a real scoring rubric, so you always know what good looks like and where you stand.
AI-powered practice calls that let you rehearse openers and objections before you run them live.
A defined promotion path to BDR II and beyond. We promote from within, and we've done it recently.
